Reflection: Jesus said, “I am the bread of life”, which is good ‘cause I am ravenous. Every waking moment I am searching, watching, waiting, hoping for more. Hungry. Thirsty. I usually seem to find solace in the bakery which could mean I’ve misunderstood something… Jesus also said, “Come to me.” Why is that hard? Why do I stand in the corner feasting on cardboard when there is bread to be had? Why do I find it hard to step out of the shadows and quench
my thirst with living water?Jesus also said to “believe in me”. Why is it that I can believe that the creator of the universe loved me so much that he sacrificed his only son for me, and in the same breath not believe that if I step out and trust him in obedience I will find joy?
Question: What are you afraid of? Ask God to teach you to trust him.
Prayer: Sustain us Lord, and teach us to come to you when we are hungry. Amen.
