Reflection: I was at the pool teaching my daughter to swim. Donning my bathers is not my preferred past time, but it’s always worth it when I see my goggled cutie perched gingerly on the pool’s edge. Standing not more than an arm’s length away I plead with her. “Jump!”, “Jump to Mummy.” She stares at me in fear. “Jump, you can do it!” Tears. She wants to swim, but she can’t let go. Eventually I lean in and scoop her up hoping
that one day soon she will trust me. I long for her to know the joy of swimming in the water with me. I wonder if Jesus is calling me to jump. “I died for you, don’t you think I will catch you? Don’t you want to be in my arms, living in freedom?” Will I jump? Or will I cling to the edge in fear?
Question: Is Jesus calling you to know the joy of trusting him completely?
Prayer: What an amazing Father you are, Lord. May we trust you and overflow with hope! Amen.
