Journey Songs (Psalms of Ascent)

Day 14 of 14

NIV

Psalms 134:1-3

Psalm 134

A song of ascents.

1Praise the Lord, all you servants of the Lord

who minister by night in the house of the Lord.

2Lift up your hands in the sanctuary

and praise the Lord.

3May the Lord bless you from Zion,

he who is the Maker of heaven and earth.

Reflection:  Praise

We’ve reached the end of our journey. It is fitting that the Psalms of Ascent finish with a song of praise. The songs that we’ve looked at over the past 14 days have been there to lift our eyes above all that goes on around us and to remind us of the one who is on the throne. They are songs of comfort. They are songs that re-focus our hearts on the all-powerful, loving, rescuing, forgiving King who looks after his people now and forever.  He is worth praising and worshipping. He is worth following. So may you find comfort and rest in the one who is with you every step you take on the journey home.

Question:  How has God shaped you through the Psalms?  How can you worship God in your journey?

Prayer:  I praise you, God, because you are the forever King. I thank you that you are with me in everything I do. Help me to keep following you, keep trusting you, keep resting in you always.
