Reflection:Â Together
As followers of Jesus, we are called into a life together. We are called to love one another. We are called to support one another. When we see this happening, it is a beautiful thing. It is infectious. It is powerful. It overflows into the lives of all those around them (like the oil poured on an Old Testament priest that overflows from the head to the beard and onto the robes.) Sadly, our church communities can be places of dis-unity. We have become tribal. A place where we focus on our differences rather than on the gospel that unites us. But if our gatherings are to reflect the eternal gathering of God’s people from every tongue, tribe and nation that is united around the throne in worship of the Lamb, then that should have a deep impact on the way we pursue unity with each other, as sisters and brothers in Christ.
Question:Â How can you show your unity in the gospel with your fellow believers?
Prayer:Â Lord God, thank you that you have called us into fellowship with each other. Forgive me for where I have failed to live this out. Help me pursue a deep unity in the gospel of Jesus with my brothers and sisters in Christ.
