30The angel said to her, “Don't be afraid, Mary; God has been gracious to you. 31 You will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High God. The Lord God will make him a king, as his ancestor David was,
Reflection: Finally, Jesus is on the scene. Well, sort of. The baby that Mary is about to conceive will be Jesus, the Son of the Most High. And it’s understandable that Mary might be a little freaked out by this news. But at the end of the day, this announcement is about the impending arrival of the rightful ruler of God’s people. Jesus will be the true heir of King David’s throne, the true king of God’s people, and the true king of all people.
Question: Do you acknowledge Jesus as the king of your life?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I’m sorry for the times I have not acknowledged you as my true king. Please help me to obey you in every area of my life. Amen.
