39Look at my hands and my feet, and see that it is I myself. Feel me, and you will know, for a ghost doesn't have flesh and bones, as you can see I have.”
Reflection: In his resurrection, Jesus is not an apparition or a ghost. He is not a vision or a dream. He’s a real person – recognisable as Jesus but also majestically transformed into something far more glorious. And his realness is a model for us. It shows us what we will be like in the final resurrection: recognisably us, but significantly transformed into the image of the Son of God.
Question: Do you believe that in his resurrection Jesus had a real
body?
Prayer: Gracious Father, thank you that Jesus rose from the dead after his death. Please help me know the deep significance of this event for my life in the present. Amen.
