46and said to them, “This is what is written: the Messiah must suffer and must rise from death three days later, 47and in his name the message about repentance and the forgiveness of sins must be preached to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem.
Reflection: It was God’s plan all along that Jesus would die, suffer and rise from the dead. And Jesus was in on it. It’s not a mistake. Jesus here refers to prophesies from the Old Testament that predicted the coming of the Messiah and the ways in which people would respond to him. And it’s all for one reason: so that every human could receive forgiveness for our sin.
Question: Have you taken up God’s offer of forgiveness for your sin?
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that you made it possible for my sin to be forgiven. Please help me trust in your grace and love. Amen.
