Reflection:
My son snuck my Fitbit to school so that he could see how many steps he did in one day. “Mum, I need to know how well I am doing,” he explained. “How else will I know how good I am?” I explained to him that, although I was impressed with the steps he had done, he had to ask first. Â
It got me thinking, though, how much I rely on things, like my Fitbit, to tell me how well I am doing at life. How much do I rely on compliments or encouragement from people to get me through the day? Though these things in themselves are not bad, if they become my measuring stick to how well I am doing in life, then I am in BIG trouble. Â
Do you know that you are secure, significant and accepted in Christ?Â
Prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, please help us to remember that we are not trying to please man. Lord, our life should be for an audience of one. Amen.Â
