God in the Ordinary, Everyday Life

Day 11 of 14

NIV

Romans 8:1-2

"So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death." Romans 8:1-2, NLT

Reflection:

My daughter got a hold of my shaver and decided to brush her teeth with it!!!!

We ended up at emergency, where I had to explain my negligence to the doctor. I felt so guilty. A band aid and teddy were prescribed for my daughter, who thought the night had been quite successful.

I felt guilty for days. I imagined the bloodied scene over and over in my head, imagining the worst. I can’t remember how many times I apologised. I wanted to fix it somehow; to make amends with her. However, my daughter had moved on and wasn’t phased by it. She even asked when she could go back to the hospital again!

It made me think about my relationship with God. If my sin becomes obvious to me and I start to feel guilty, I begin to fixate on it.

Can you accept that if you confess your sin, he is faithful and will forgive?

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,  Thank you that through your Son, we have freedom and redemption.  Thank you for always being faithful to forgive.  Amen.Â
