Reflection:
The other day I was trying to get into the swimming pool with my pass. No matter how many times I tried to use it, it just wouldn’t work. I looked over at the lady at the desk, who was watching me struggle and immediately, in my head, I blamed the swimming pool for this error.
“Can I help?”, she asked nicely. “Yes” I said, “my pass isn’t working – again”. Reaching out her hand she said, “Can I please have your pass so I can see what’s going wrong?” I handed the pass to her. “Well, I can see where you are going wrong”, she exclaimed, “this is a Woolworths pass”.
Boy, did I feel foolish. Â
How often are we convinced that we are right and everyone else is wrong? Or, worse, how often do we think we are right and God is wrong?
Prayer:
Our Loving Father, please help us to remain teachable. Please forgive us when our foolish and stubborn hearts prevent us from growing in you. Amen.Â
