Reflection:
I was at work the other day when my manager came into my office looking panicked. “A possum just fell through the ceiling! We’ve contained it, but can you please call someone to get it?” Â
When the person arrived, we went into the room where the possum was and it was a mess. This possum had gone crazy, defecating everywhere and destroying everything in its path. I looked at this possum and thought, “No wonder you went wild, you don’t belong here. This is not your home”.
It made me think about my own life; I can behave like that possum. I make a mess of things – I even go a little crazy and wonder why I feel so displaced at times.
Do you forget that earth is not your home?Â
Prayer:
Our Loving Father, we are thankful that we are part of your family, but we often forget that our citizenship is not on earth. Help us to live in a way that reflects that attitude, Amen. Â
