Reflection:
We were walking along the beach when my daughter suddenly declared that she no longer had any more energy and needed me to carry her. “I can’t do it, Mum”, she cried. “I need you”.
She didn’t question why we were at the beach or why she had to walk in the first place, nor did she question how long she would have to endure walking. In that moment, I was her only way out of the current situation and that was all she could see.
How often, when we go through trials, we question God’s intentions and challenge his authority, when instead we should trust him as the one who can save us.
Are you ready to stop looking at your current situation, to throw up your hands and say “I need you God!”
Prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, we need you. You will save us from all our troubles and fears. Please help us to trust that you have saved us. Amen.
