Reflection: In this part of the Bible, Paul describes the heavenly reality that is veiled behind the physical reality which we see all around us. We have been made alive in Christ, and are part of God’s kingdom with a seat in heaven. This is who we are. Even though at this time we cannot see this reality, one day the heavenly reality and the physical reality will be brought together so that what is now veiled will one day be made fully known.
Question: Where do we look to find our identity? What will be the outcome if we look only to the world around us to work out who we are?
Prayer: God our Father, you have given us every spiritual blessing, even a place in your heavenly kingdom. Help us to remember that our true identity is formed through our participation in the kingdom of heaven rather than the kingdoms of this world. Amen
