Reflection: This is a similar list to that proposed by Paul in his letter to the Colossians. We are encouraged to make an effort to transform our character, and be the people we are becoming – people of virtue, knowledge, self-control, steadfastness, godliness, brotherly affection and love. As it is for ourselves, so it is for each other – that as we interact with one another in Christian communities, we look for opportunities to encourage one another in this same way, as Peter does with his
readers.
Question: How might we encourage one another to put on these different virtues?
Prayer: Father God, help us to encourage one another to be people of your kingdom. Help us to appreciate and understand your intentions for your people so that we might know best how we can support each other to become more like Jesus, reflecting more clearly your character. Amen.
