12 You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you. 14And to all these qualities add love, which binds all things together in perfect unity.
Reflection: Here is just one list of some of the virtues associated with being heavenly minded. This is our calling and our destiny – to be people who have put off the old self and put on the new. This is who we are becoming – this is who we are called to be today. But we need to start small, identifying those habits which, as they become an integral part of what we do, begin to define who we are.
Question: What habits
can we develop which will help us to “put on” kindness, compassion, humility, meekness, patience and love?
Prayer: Lord God, teach us how to grow in character. Teach us how teach each other to put on the different qualities of your kingdom. We pray that you might support parents and teachers to find ways to promote habits that lead to the formation of character. Amen
