Reflection: When you have your armour on, then you can stand, no matter what comes your way. It is a great key to have all our armour in place – a strategy, if you like. I think too often we forget that our struggle is spiritual in nature and that we are fighting in battles that we don’t fully understand. This is when we need to take up the armour that has been provided for us. In Ephesians 6: 14-17, we are told exactly what that armour is and where it is positioned. I think the shield of faith is an amazing defence we have, that can stand the fiery arrows from the evil one. God has given us this armour – we simply need to put it on and then stand our ground when the battles come. We can be prepared.
Prayer: Thank you, Lord, that you provide us armour against the enemy’s schemes. We put on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit. We are ready to stand our ground, for you. This we pray, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
