Reflection: How do we encourage each other and build each other up? It is by believing in each other and speaking words of hope and courage into people’s lives. Another form of encouragement is receiving positive feedback. One way we can do this is by noticing when someone is doing something well and giving them positive feedback or praise. How often do you give feedback to someone for a job well done, or that you really appreciated when they did a certain thing? Could you send a thank you card in the post, a text, or an email thanking someone for their efforts, their time, their smile? In doing this, you can encourage them.
Can you share a testimony of when you were going through a similar challenge to them and you have come though, now stronger, wiser? Your own testimony can be a huge encouragement to someone else. Never underestimate the power of testimony where God has brought you through a challenging time. It might be the very word of encouragement and picture of hope that someone else needs to hear.
Prayer: Lord, open my eyes to opportunities to encourage others. Help me to see when to speak a word of encouragement and to be bold for you in building others up. Amen.
