Reflection: This is reality. We see a clear picture of our fragility. God creates us in his image. But he is eternal and we … we are temporary, swept away in the sleep of death, just like grass. Our world tries to deny or escape from this reality — the brevity and fragility of our lives.
As believers, we have the incredible assurance of eternity in God’s presence. What an amazing privilege, to have this a perspective! Eternity with God is, far, far better than the present — so hard for us to fully grasp and imagine.
How can we live this out daily, and give others a completely different view of God’s goodness?
Prayer: Father thank you for life. Help us to see your view — though life is temporary, and fragile, you show us eternity in all its glory, eternity with you. Thank you for the joy you give us now, and will give us in eternity, with you as our Lord.
