Reflection: This passage is so different from yesterday’s. Why is God angry with us? How does the Psalmist describe God’s anger and its effect on our lives?
We are consumed by his anger, terrified by his indignation. Our secret sins are not so secret, after all — they are in the light of God’s presence. He knows and understands everything about us. He is rightly grieved by, and angry about, our rebellion. Yet because of his mercy, love and grace, Moses knew (Psalm 90:14,17) and we know, through Jesus, that we will be forgiven.
How does Jesus’ death and resurrection affect our view of our impending death? We can know we are saved and will be with him for eternity.
Prayer: Father, thank you that you are completely and unfailingly just. Thank you for your incredible grace. Please help us to hold onto Jesus, and live our lives with you at the centre.
