Reflection: Eager to serve
Anyone who is in any form of paid ministry will be aware of the temptation to pursue dishonest gain. While there will always be notorious examples in any age, for most of us it is much more subtle. Opportunities pop up all the time where you can take advantage of the situation for your own benefit.
The antidote is that we should be eager to serve. I’ve always said that there is a volunteer dimension to any paid ministry. At the end of the day, it is all about service and the joy and privilege of playing your part in God’s work. Any form of service is both exalted as well as mundane.
Question: How eager are you to serve?
Prayer:Â Gracious God, thank you for your kindness in serving me day in and day out. Help me to be eager to serve in each of the areas of my life. Amen.
