Reflection: Under Shepherds

What powerful words. God invites us to be shepherds of his flock! This is the very particular responsibility of those who exercise oversight in our churches/groups. But it is also something they share with many who shepherd parts of the flock. So, acknowledge that the people are entrusted into your care and watch over them. Do it joyfully and willingly because God wants you to!

Leadership, oversight, pastoring, shepherding is an amazing privilege and opportunity. The people in your care are God’s people and he wants the best for them.

Prayer:  Thank you, Lord Jesus, for being the Chief Shepherd of the flock. Thank you for the rich privilege of being entrusted with the joy and responsibility of being one of your under shepherds. Help me to lead and care like you do. Amen.
