Reflection: Trusting in God’s Love
In today’s devotion, we see that the Scriptures admonish us to be confident in the love that God has for us. We need to be confident in God’s love and not fear, because perfect love drives out fear.
From today’s Bible passage, we are reminded that we can trust in God’s unending love for us. This realisation and understanding of God’s love in our lives helps us to trust in him even when things are not going well.
Perfect trust and confidence in God’s love gives us the boldness to walk through challenges knowing that God will always come through no matter the circumstances.
God created us because he loves us. Sometimes you might fall short of the glory of God, fall into temptation and be struggling with a lot, and begin to feel that God does not love you. You may live in guilt, condemnation and fear. But in today’s devotion, the Scripture is assuring and reminding us to trust that God’s love for us is constant, always.
If we do so – if we trust that God’s love for us is constant – his love also enables us to love others, just as he cares for us.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help us to trust in your word and constant love for us. Help us to love one another like you love us.
