Reflection: All For His Glory
Nothing you do for God is wasted. So many of the hopes, plans and dreams I had for my ministry have not come to fruition. The list of things that have failed is spectacular. But here’s the thing: nothing done for God escapes his notice or goes without reward. And anything not done for God’s glory doesn’t deserve to be remembered at all.
It’s basically as simple as that.
So, arm yourself with biblical wisdom – and minister in the power and passion God puts in your heart. Don’t let fear hold you back. If God has given you the passion for a project, it is a fair bet that he will equip you with the Holy Spirit’s power to enable you to do it.
The goal is to be faithful rather than to be successful. So let God determine the success – and remember that it probably won’t look like success as you would define it. Job scraped his open sores with pieces of pottery as he sat on an ash heap. That didn’t look much like success. But in the spiritual realm, his actions were massively significant.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I give you all my failures and all my unrealised dreams. I know that my motives were not always pure, and my discernment not always clear. And sometimes, I have simply needed to trust that you are furthering your purposes.
Please take my failures and use them to your glory… for it is only your glory that matters.
