Reflection: Sometimes we sing songs like More of you, God and less of me and it sounds right, right? But wait. Does that mean the goal is to remove as much of me as possible to ‘let God in’?
Is God’s kingdom to come when I am no more?
What if God’s kingdom come means quite the opposite – more of you and all of me? What if letting go of the things of earth means bringing your whole self into relationship with God? What if your will be done means bringing my whole self into restored relationship with God, with others and the world?
What would that look like? It sounds like a whole lot more than wishing that God would just take over my life already. It sounds like flourishing in the now. It sounds like heaven on earth.
I want an all-of-life relationship with God.
I want to live in the freedom of generosity that Jesus paid for with his life.
Prayer:Â More of you, Lord, and ALL of me! Teach me to enjoy a whole-of-self relationship with you. Amen.
