Series Introduction
For the next seven days, Magnai from the Mongolian Union Bible Society will lead us in a devotion series on being ‘Ambassadors for Christ’. We will reflect on passages of Scripture which consider the role we play as messengers of God’s love and salvation. Together we will explore what it means to represent Christ in our daily lives and how we can effectively share his message with others, in a world that desperately needs his light and hope.
Reflection: Ambassador of Christ
Missionaries from various countries around the world come to Mongolia. One pastor I know has met some of them and formed friendships, but he rarely visited their countries.
The Kaanar family represented America, teaching us the Bible. The Tissen family from Canada and Maarten Hoogesteger from Australia also made an impact on us.
During a visit to Korea, my pastor friend thought about his Korean acquaintances and felt proud of their ability to build such a country. In Singapore, he was reminded of the warm zeal of a brother we called “Singa Ariunaa”.
As a Mongolian, it brings me joy to consider how foreigners, especially non-believers, see me as a Christian.
2 Corinthians 5:19 reminds us that we are God’s ambassadors, entrusted with the message of reconciliation. Our actions and behaviour should reflect Christ to the world, not just our words.
Prayer:
We want to be ambassadors who witness to Christ. Help us to live as your witnesses.
