Reflection:Â Do what is good
Corruption in this world is not confined to leaders. In many nations, bribery, ‘jobs for the boys’, and other behaviours which sail close to the wind are endemic, and it is very difficult, yet vital, that Christians take a stand and live as an example of righteous living by his enabling grace.
It is helpful in dealing with others to remember that we are no different to them without God’s kindness and love.
We are saved by grace through faith, and we can only do good, resist slander, live peacefully and considerately, by grace through faith.
We need reminding of these things regularly.
We need to regularly remind ourselves and others how to behave towards our leaders and one another, to remember how we once were and how the tasting of God’s love and kindness and His outpouring of the Holy Spirit is preparing us as heirs of the kingdom in which we will live forever.
Prayer:Â Heavenly Father, thank you for your Son Jesus Christ, who has saved me through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. Thank you that I am justified by grace. Help me to lead a life that honours you in all I do and think and say. Amen.
