Reflection: Serving God
The Lord calls us to fellowship with him and one another through the Holy Spirit of God, who we must avoid upsetting at all costs.
We cause sorrow to the Holy Spirit whenever we do things God does not allow. But when we do good as he commands us, when we are kind and compassionate to one another and when we forgive each other, we will be fulfilling the word of God and his purpose for our lives. Also, it’s only when we are kind and compassionate to one another that we are challenged when we see our brothers and neighbours in need.
He commands us to take his word to all corners of the globe, to be considerate and find all possible ways within our means to be partakers of the gospel. As children of God, we grieve the Holy Spirit when we are not part of the great commission as he orders us, just as when we live lives contrary to the word of God.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I thank you for the opportunity to be part of the kingdom. Help me to please the Holy Spirit with whom I was sealed for the day of redemption. Help me to be kind and compassionate to others and participate in the great commission in the best possible way. In Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.
