Reflection:
As we approach Easter, one episode from the Gospels we recall is Jesus’ foot washing and last supper.
Jesus’ Kingship was not established on a warhorse or through military might. Instead, it is his acts of submission and service that culminate in his death on a cross that brings the true lasting peace of God’s Kingdom. And this way of peace is not cheap or easy. It is deeply costly, but the blessing that follows is that we will be called children of God; we will look like our Father as we follow the footsteps of Jesus.
How can you be a peacemaker for God today?
Prayer:
Father, thank you that King Jesus is the great peacemaker, reconciling all things to yourself and making peace through the blood of his cross. Thank you that you welcome and forgive me. Make me a peacemaker like Jesus. Amen.
