Reflection:
As Easter approaches, we reflect on Jesus’ death, the day of his great persecution.
Obedient to death, Jesus was betrayed, accused, attacked, scourged, condemned, mocked, reviled, and finally killed.
The world does not always welcome the good news of God’s Kingdom, yet Jesus courageously stood firm as trouble came to him and obeyed his Father in walking the way of the beatitudes.
Where might you need to courageously stand firm in walking the way of the beatitudes?
Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for standing firm for righteousness’ sake, for being obedient to your Father unto death, for rescuing us by your blood shed on the cross. Today I remember. Thank you, make me stand like you when times of trouble and challenge come. Amen.
