Reflection: Ultimately, the wisdom we seek from God is found in the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ. That is our meaning, our purpose, our grace and our hope. Without Jesus experiencing the excruciating pain and humiliation of the crucifixion – if he did not die – our sins would not have been taken away. We would not have God’s unconditional forgiveness. If Christ did not rise, bearing the wounds of his earthly life, our faith would be foolish, without purpose. For this is the remarkable gift that those who believe in the Risen Lord Jesus have been given.
As Christians, we can claim that through Christ’s sacrifice and return to sit in heaven at God’s right hand, our own wrongdoing, failures, poor behaviour, are constantly wiped clean by God. Not only that, but we are also loved, we are seen, our lives have meaning, due to God’s healing hand of redemption. And that is where our wisdom lies. Our wisdom is the daily claiming of that grace, hope and love. And as we continue our journey of faith, constantly seeking God’s wisdom, we will begin to display humility, gentleness, kindness and the other fruits of the Spirit.
Prayer: Lord God, may I become more Christ-like each and every day as you pour your wisdom into my heart and soul. Thank you for the gift of grace, given through Jesus’ death and resurrection. I am overwhelmed by such love. May I reflect that humility and hope daily. Amen.
