Reflection
Revelation 7:9-10 shows us a breathtaking glimpse into the heavenly worship that transcends all earthly boundaries. John the apostle received a vision that describes a vast multitude, so diverse that its numbers are beyond count. This assembly represents people from every nation, tribe, and language, united in a glorious chorus of worship before the throne of God and the Lamb.
They are clothed in white robes, symbolising purity and victory. In their hands, they hold palm branches, an ancient symbol of triumph and celebration. What a beautiful scene of unity, diversity, and triumphant worship!
The core of their proclamation echoes through the heavenly realms: “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” This resounding declaration encapsulates the essence of their worship — an acknowledgment that salvation is a divine gift, a testimony to the redemptive power of God and the sacrificial work of the Lamb, Jesus Christ.
This heavenly vision serves as an encouragement. It reminds us that our faith is not confined to a particular people or culture; rather, it spans across all nations and languages. Our salvation is a universal truth, covers to all who believe in the redeeming work of Jesus Christ.
Prayer
As we come before your presence, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the gift of salvation through your Son, Jesus Christ. We are reminded of the words in Romans 10:14, “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” Lord, please, send us to reach out to your people.
