Reflection: Those who are ‘in Christ’ are given a new identity rooted in their relationship with him. This new identity is no longer defined by worldly standards or past mistakes but by their status as God’s children and heirs to his promises.
Are we excited about this new life in Christ? Embracing a new life in Christ often begins with a spiritual awakening or realisation of one’s need for a deeper connection with God. Accepting Christ often involves a change in attitudes, behaviours, and priorities.
Before we can become new, the first thing we need to do is to decide to be in Christ. Once we make the decision to be in Christ, we then become a New Creation. God doesn’t give us a used life, a rebuilt life, or a reconditioned life. He gives us a new life in Christ. When we become a new creation, we do not engage in the things which we were involved earlier. We reflect new things, new ideas and a new spirit.
It is also necessary that the old things should pass away. Especially, the bad attitudes, and bad behaviours should be dismissed.
Finally, I would like to highlight that God gives us deliverance. He gives us a new blessing, a new calling, a new destiny, a new faith, a new heart, a new life, and a new mission to glorify his name.
Prayer: Dear Lord, we humbly ask for the strength to embrace the newness of life that you provide. Help us to walk in the light of your truth, to live according to your will, and to spread the message of your love and redemption to those around us. May our lives reflect the transformational power of Christ’s sacrifice, inspiring others to seek the beauty of a life renewed in you. We believe that in Christ, we are new creations; the old has passed away, and the new has come. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
