Reflection: As parents, elders and caregivers, the Bible teaches us to play a crucial role in instilling values, principles, and a moral compass in the lives of children from the very beginning. It is necessary to give a good foundation to children — like a house is built on a rock — so that they will not perish.
In our society today, especially in our country, we can see how parents are separated and families are broken, as fathers are addicted to either alcohol or drugs. Children therefore do not receive the love they require from their families. These parents are a very bad example in the lives of their children. There are some children who end up in children’s homes or living with relatives. Some children are even misled onto wrong paths which spoil their childhood.
It is so important for parents to have a good relationship with their children, and set a good example, so that their children can become fruitful individuals as they grow up, and follow the right path.
Prayer: Dear Lord, we come before you with hearts filled with gratitude and a desire to raise our children in the ways of righteousness. We entrust our children into your hands, knowing that your plans for them are good and purposeful. May they remain anchored in your truth all the days of their lives, bringing honour to your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
