It’s so easy to be anxious in the world we live in. There is conflict, heartache, troubles and illness. But despite it all, God is present and consistent and cares for us. This is why Paul encourages the Philippians to present to God their troubles and requests in prayer and with thanksgiving. God cares.
The peace of God is an incredible gift. Though troubles threaten to overtake us, in our hearts we can have peace, knowing that God has it all under control. When we trust in God and His abilities, we are left with peace, despite the mountains we may face.
It’s not easy though, which I think is why we are told to be prayerful and thankful “in every situation”. It’s a habit we need to form, through daily practice.
Question
Do you feel you share your troubles and gratitude with God?
Prayer
God help us to focus on the things of you, not the things of this earth, so that we may have peace in our hearts.
