Reflection: I’m pretty comfortable with the breaking of bread, to be honest. I think I’ve nailed that. As for devoting myself to teaching and fellowship, I mean I consume teaching and fellowship, is that the same thing?
I’m going to skip over the selling of possessions to give to anyone in need and make some adequate justification about that in my head.
And sure, let’s eat more bread, and I’m happy to throw in some praise to God if I can soak up some favour.
And so there you have it. Fellowship 101, the Bec paraphrased version.
Because for some reason, even though I deeply desire the kind of fellowship described in Acts, I constantly settle for an imitation version that doesn’t require much of me.
But I do wonder. I wonder what could be if I embraced true fellowship, and I do wonder how many would be added to our fellowship daily as they were saved if I embraced the fellowship of believers.
Because it seems that is what I am called to do, as a disciple of Jesus. To love one another, so that everyone will know that we are his disciples.
To know each other, to know God, and to live in the fullness of life that God intends.
Prayer: Please teach us Lord, to enjoy true fellowship with one another.
