Reflection: Resurrected body
New creation is on the move. Rocks tremble and shift; a tomb yawns empty; heavenly messengers blaze with the screamer: Death’s curse is crushed! And in an uncanny series of events the Son of God gives the world a peek of his body resurrected.
Adam[ah] (meaning ‘earth’) was an earthy image of God.
The risen Christ is …well,
‘Touch me’ says he to Thomas;
‘Don’t cling to me’, to Mary;
‘Feed me’ to the disciples;
Walk with me. Listen to me. Meet with me. Picnic with me.
Verify. Trust. Believe.
The risen Christ is recognisable, renewed, a refined image of God.
This my body—forty days, gracious to prove it.
Forty days apparent on the adamah before ascending to heaven.
Prayer:
On this risen body pivots their faith and hope, pivots our faith and hope!
