Reflection: Salvation
The greatest news ever told is that Jesus did not stay dead: three days later he rose again, and in doing so, Jesus completely conquered death and sin, so that we could live forgiven, free, and with purpose. It is because of this ultimate sacrifice and victory over death that Jesus offers us salvation.
What is salvation? Jesus’ salvation offers us freedom from sin and its consequences — which included death and separation from God. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we are saved from separation from God and even from death, all because of Jesus’ great love and mercy.
A lot of believers can forget that Jesus doesn’t just save us from something — sin — but also for something — a relationship with him.
Today might you be reminded that your journey to salvation was not the end of your story, but the beginning.
God’s desire through salvation was to remediate the separation between mankind and himself, and through the Cross we can now walk in relationship with Jesus.
How does your relationship with God currently look? Has it become a thing in the distant past or are you walking in relationship with Christ because of his saving grace in your life?

Prayer:
Dear Jesus, thank you for saving me. Without you I was broken and a sinner. I thank you today for the Cross and what you conquered through it. I take a moment to remember that you rose again, and I ask that as I go about my day today, I would walk with you. Speak to me. Guide me. Be with me, and please give me moments to share the goodness of your salvation with others. Amen.
