Reflection: Where to go when I’m stuck (the Bible)
The word of God is the only book that is alive. Meaning, it reads you as you read it. It exposes our inner heart motives and attitudes and convicts/empowers us to live a godly life.
The Bible is also our supreme guide. Have you ever had a moment when you felt stuck? Like you don’t know what to do, what to say or where to go? I have.
Many times, when we get caught in the doldrums of life, we lose hope, motivation and purpose. The Bible says about itself, that it is a lamp for my feet, and a light on my path. I love how the Scripture uses feet and path as a clear indication that we are all on a journey. Can you imagine walking in the dark without any form of light? The light that guides our feet to remain on the path is the word of God. It is our compass for direction, it is our encouragement in doubt, and it is our motivator when we feel stuck.
Each time I open the Bible I am aware that this isn’t an ordinary book. The Bible is alive and active — accomplishing its mission every single time, to draw me closer to the author. Each time I begin reading the Bible, it reads me. And reveals to me my desperate need for God.

Prayer:
God, I thank you that your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. Holy Spirit, I thank you that you draw near to me as I read your word. Lord, help me to seek you through your word. Amen.
