Reflection: Blessing Eleven – Opportunities
Not everyone reading this will consider themselves rich. But many of us are comfortably well off and some of us are materially rich. Paul’s words are both challenging as well as helpful. He doesn’t condemn wealth, but challenges us as to what to do with this privilege and opportunity.
If we have resources, then we have opportunities, and it is what we do with those opportunities that is important. Here we are commanded to do good and to be rich in good deeds. To be generous and willing to share.
Make the most of the resources the Lord has blessed you with. Take hold of the amazing opportunities that come with being materially blessed. Have a big vison of what God can and will do through you. Lay up treasure in heaven and use your resources to ensure others can join you.
Prayer:Â Generous God, we thank you for your amazing kindness in our lives and for blessing us with the resources we have. Help us to make the most of the opportunities that come with those resources. May we be noted not for our wealth but by our overflowing generosity for the sake of others and your kingdom. Amen.
