Reflection:
It is not uncommon for people who are living under the favour of God to wonder, “Why?”
Is it something that they have done or thought, or an attitude that they carry that has somehow caused the favour of God to be attracted to their life? The simple and true answer is that it is the grace of God.
There is something within the very nature of God that causes an emanation of favour that is not deserved. This is because God is love. Within his very essence is the proclivity to give favour because he chooses to rather than because a person has earned it.
This was ultimately expressed in the person of Jesus. We read, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). It was because God so loved the world that he gave Jesus. It was not because the world earned it or was deserving of it but because God ‘so loved’. It is the same for our lives. Open yourself today to the love of God and experience his favour.
Prayer:
God, on this day, I open my life to your love and your favour. Thank you for your profound love for me expressed in Jesus. Today I choose to live in the favour you have showered on my life in Jesus.
