Reflection:
Something special happens when we get around the people that the favour of God is resting upon. Have you ever noticed it when a person has the favour of God upon their life? It is like doors open for them that don’t open for others. You may have even asked yourself, “Why do they get opportunities that I don’t get?” Or it may be that there seems to be a grace on their life as they travel through very challenging circumstances, and you can tell that in spite of great challenge the favour of God is resting upon them.
For Elizabeth, having Mary in her presence was to be made aware of the favour of God. Her sense of the favour of God on Mary made Elizabeth feel favoured. Even her baby reacted to the favour of God by leaping in her womb.
For each one of us the favour of God has been secured for us by Jesus. He took upon our sin and corruption so that we might become the righteousness of God in him.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, our eyes are fixed on you. We seek to be people who walk in the favour that has been secured for us by your death and resurrection. Help us to live in your grace this day. Amen.
