Reflections: It’s worth noting the kinds of things that the Psalmist is asking for: he is seeking grace in his loneliness and affliction, relief from his troubles and freedom from his anguish. These are significant things to ask for. But the most significant he saves ‘til last – he wants his sins taken away. This is the most significant, and the most difficult, but not for God. It is his sins that keep him from God, keep him from the enduring grace and peace and freedom that Christ offers.
Question: Have you taken up Christ’s offer of forgiveness of sins and the grace, peace and freedom that comes with it?
Prayers:Â We praise you God for your grace and peace and freedom and the forgiveness of our sins. Help us live lives that honour you. Amen.
